Obituary for Barbara Ann Green

Barbara Ann Green, 83, passed away November 22, 2017 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, due to complications from a stroke three months earlier. She was born in Toledo on November 12, 1934, to Tony and Pearl Best, and lived in Waterville for most of her adult life. Barb earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Toledo, and was a beloved and respected teacher at Delta High School for more than 27 years.

Barb was a free thinker, a voracious reader and a rabid University of Michigan fan. She was fun and funny and never said no to a Loma Linda margarita. She loved her neighbors and friends…but absolutely lived for her son and grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her son Steven (Mary), grandchildren Jacob, Noah, Esther (Nate) and Lee Ann, and great-grandchildren Maggie and George.

An Open House in her memory will be held on December 27, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Wood County Library, 215 N. Main Street, Bowling Green (eulogy at 2:00). Memorial donations are encouraged to the Bridge Home Health and Hospice (15100 Birchhaven Lane, Findlay, OH 45840), whose staff cared for Barb in her last hours. The family is grateful beyond words for their kindness and compassion.
