Obituary for Calvin Squire

Calvin G. Squire has fought the good fight and has now finished the race and is at rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 4:7) He and his wife, Barbara (Smith) Squire of 53 years, were able to enjoy traveling by train, plane and automobile including one special 40 year wedding anniversary AAA Cruise to Southern Caribbean.

Calvin would want everyone to know that without all his family and friends over the years he would not have enjoyed life as long as he did. He had many memories that kept him going. From being a maintenance mechanic at Campbell Soup Company to all his Christian church friends over the years to his classmates from Anthony Wayne high school in which he graduated in 1961 to all his neighbors from Whitehouse, OH, to the many friends that they both camped with along the Maumee river and to the newest friends (where some have become close like family) in Weston , OH, along with those that worship at Sonlight Community Church as well as Pastors Chris and Glenda Boggs and the Bible study group that has become close-knit over the years. Simple things were important to him such as working at his daughter, Stephanie’s and Joe’s Shoppe, enjoying the Red bud trees along the river, running/meditating in Oak Openings, getting to know the people who attended us at the various restaurants we enjoyed eating at. He also made special bonds to the medical staff at U. S Renal Care in Bowling Green, OH , who kept him going for 7 years.

He leaves behind his family; Wife, Barbara (Smith) Squire, daughters and families, Stephanie (Squire) , Casey Ringler and grandsons, Caden and Syler Ringler and Andrea (Squire) and Eric Fulcomer and grandchildren Noah and Anna Fulcomer, who were all a blessing to him. Being a sibling of 6, he now leaves behind two sisters , Sharon & Danny Thomas and Margaret and Jerry Carpenter and all their family members. Also sisters in laws, Christiana (Smith) and Joe Haines and Shawn and Bob Boessel, as well as their many family members. He was fortunate to have had two fathers, one who gave him life, Calvin Bailey, Jr. and Melvin Squire who married his mother Iva Squire and raised him as his own. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Judy, Cathy and Karen and his in laws Christian and Jeannette Smith, who were like 2nd parents to him .

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday December 5th from 5 to 8pm at the Peinert Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio. Funeral services will be 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Christopher Boggs officiating.
