Obituary for Enid Potter

Enid Cirrue (Sue) Potter, age 99, passed away peacefully on March 30 at Hospice NW Ohio in Perrysburg, OH.

Enid was born in New Hampshire, Ohio on April 12, 1919. She attended grades first through fifth at Olney Elementary in Northwood, OH. Grades fifth through eighth she attended Raymer Elementary in East Toledo. Enid attended Waite High School for one year and graduated from Lake Township High School, Millbury, Ohio in 1937. Enid was one of the first cheerleaders at Lake High School.

Enid began working at S. S. Kresge at Adams and St. Clair Streets in downtown Toledo. At the onset of World War 11, she began working at the Rossford Ordnance Depot in the Editing Section. The Section distributed vehicle parts and ordnance to the United States military.
Enid married Albert Loron Potter on November 24, 1951. They were married for 57 years.

Enid is preceded in death by her husband Albert, her parents Nana and Oscar Kopp, and her brothers Norval, twins Wilbur and Warren Kopp.

Enid is survived by her four children Albert Jr., Alice, Ava (Russ) St. Clair, Alan (Pam) Potter. Surviving grandchildren are Leslie (Chris) Frank, Lyndsay (Jonathon) Will and Alan (Heather) Potter and Alyssa (Kris) Chandler. Surviving great-grandchildren are Archer Potter, Brady Will and Addison Will. Surviving sisters-in-law are Doris (Wilbur) Kopp and Eleanor (Warren) Kopp. Surviving nieces are Cindy (Rick) Hayes, Karen (Dave) Kozina, Barb Buzzy. Surviving is one nephew Norval (Nancy) Kopp and many great nieces and nephews,

Enid was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a 65 year member of the Order of Eastern Stars, Greenwood Chapter. Enid was introduced to the Order by her mother-in-law Cora Potter Miller. Active in the Order, Enid served as Worthy Matron four times. Enid volunteered at Kenwood Elementary School while her children attended.

She loved everyone unconditionally. She was an extraordinary mother. She and her mother had exceptional sewing skills making clothing for her children. She made wonderfully creative Halloween costumes.

A Celebration of Life Service and an Order of the Eastern Star Service will be held on Thursday April 11. 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster St. Pastor Andrea Curry will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
