A granddaughter's tribute to Nanny:
My beloved Nanny (grandma) stepped into heavenly glory today and reunited with her husband. 94 years of the sweetest life ever lived. I will always remember and cherish the many visits to your home in New York as a child…making chocolate cake with pudding/whipped cream frosting, candied sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, countless games of Uno, Upwords, Skip-bo, Phase 10, word jumbles, coloring Easter eggs, bowling, roller skating, the inviting smell of your house, the chime of your clock, the peppermint Tums to calm my stomach down when not feeling well the walks after stuffing our faces with turkey, your artwork, your dislike of snow, the many dinners at Tony’s, spiedies, lemon hard candy, your cookie jar, sitting in your screened in garage and talking with the heater keeping us warm, your heart to love and constantly give of yourself. Your bravery through surviving cancer, a broken pelvis, heart attack, several surgeries and the sudden loss of Papa. You were relentless in your desire to get the most out of life and I believe that you did. You are at peace now. Love you sweet, Nanny. You will be missed.
